Chimichanga

Wow, look, tonight's wrap might actually have more syllables than the number of goals scored. Good grief. The Pens did a slightly better job tonight, blowing a lead but managing to keep the game from going into overtime, pulling out a 5-4 win in what was probably the sloppiest game I have ever seen Martin Brodeur play.

Then, the rest of the games took place, and...oh no...

Oh no! Skippy...Skippy?! Man down!

The St. Louis Blues used their amazing skating abilities, high powered offense, and Brett Hull getting a street named after him....to choke the life out of Nashville to the tune of 1-0. The game may have wound up like this:

Manny Legace does the Hustle

but for the fans, and probably the Predators as well, it was likely more along the lines of this:

the real reason Nashville acquired Peter Forsberg...

It didn't get much better after that. Vancouver took down Chicago, 2-1 in a shootout. Early on, it looked like there may be some excitement. Roberto Luongo made a save that...I was going to use the photo, but this save was straight up ricockulous, so you need to watch the highlight reel to get the full effect. Unfortunately, that's about the only thing that happened all night, as Luongo was fortunate to outduel...uhh, Patrick Lalime? Huh. DIdn't know he still showed his face in public, let alone on an NHL roster.

Which leaves us with the final game of the night, where Columbus stayed in the warm confines of home and earned a 3-0 shutout win over San Jose. This win was impressive thanks in no small part to Fredrik Norrena and his whopping .898 save percentage. I guess he remembered where he was long enough to post his 3rd shutout of the season. Good for him!

Up next for them Penguins? Another run-in with the Caps on Sunday. Watch the pregame show, folks. Jarkko Ruutu has 5 goals and 4 assists in 15 games since Hull and Ferraro ripped him at intermission of the Pens last Sunday game. Wonder what will fly out of their crap-holes this week?
